Sip sunlight and small-town stories with this glossy ceramic mug.

It's a mug that tells a story, the Shoals story.

Meaning behind the Shoals story design: This design shows a connection between past and present: The old Colbert Ferry crossing the shallow shoals, and the larger more modern ferry, with deeper waters after the construction of Wilson Dam.
The ivy represents Ivy Green, the birthplace of Helen Keller in Tuscumbia.

The railroad has been a vital part of the shoals history, especially Tuscumbia and Sheffield, and the smoke billows from the train, almost turning into white fluffs of cotton, which was and is still grown in the area.
The Florence Indian Mound, shown at the back, represents a vital piece of the area's culture, the Native Americans. The music notes coming from the water signifies the "singing river", which was a name given to this stretch of the Tennessee River by the the Native Americans.
Those notes, along with the record in the center of the black-eyed Susan, (a native flower), represent the great musical legacy of the Shoals area and the talent that continues to bloom here today.
The purple cone flower is another flower native to Northwest Alabama.
I centered the design on a book to represent stories passed down thru generations, but that would come alive on the page like a pop-up book.
